Using SUSKA930s idea, I have done it this way and it was a big hit. Used the cherry pie filling instead of pineapple.

I've done this with both cherry pie filling and blueberry pie filling... it makes a beautiful cake, but very slippery to carry somewhere

Optional Idea - For those who have allergic to strawberries, use fresh blueberries or fresh sliced peaches.

This looks so good. If you wanted to make it easier to serve, like on a buffet, why not cut the cake into cubes and layer it with the filling and other fruit (or not) like a trifle.

Fat Free -- Sugar Free....OH MY!!!! Interesting how they turned the cake upside down....Why didn't I ever think of that......I think I will slice my strawberry's,next layer sliced banana's, and the next layer crushed pineapple. I could put a little coconut into the whipped cream too........Maybe drizzle some chocolate over it like a melted Godiva bar.....MMMM good....Like a banana split.....OR then.....I could just stick to the recipe!!!!!
